How Facebook led us to the liar

At some point, probably around 2009, Ty found a person who fit the image he wanted to be and he was able to have access to new pictures anytime since the person was a real life friend. This was especially convenient when it came to updating Ty’s Facebook page. These images were DIRECTLY uploaded to the fake Facebook from the mobile phone of the person pretending to be Ty.

Think about it

The guy in the picture, LC (let’s use his initials to distinguish him from the fake person), has no idea that the person sitting across from him, (who is a friend of his wife’s) is taking pictures of him and using them to pretend to be a guy named Ty Saunders!! WHAT??????

The proof IS RIGHT THERE!!! The screenshot shows you that it was uploaded via Facebook for Blackberry.

How did we figure out that this was LC?    

Remember Travis Buehner in the blog “Lesson learned”?  That blog author had multiple conversations with the real person in the pictures, RO, because he was hoping to track down the creep that stole his pictures and life story as well.  RO is friends with LC. 

When RO showed LC the Ty Saunders Facebook page, LC immediately recognized the mobile uploads and knew that there was only one phone that that could have uploaded them to the fake profile. 

But he didn’t tell RO who it was and he definitely didn’t tell us! 

Facebook was notified of the fake profile and it was supposed to be taken down. But it was still up at the end of July when Luke, claiming to be roommates with Ty, told me to friend Ty on Facebook.  Luke said he didn’t have a FB because of his “crazy exes” but that Ty gave him his login info so he could accept my friend request and see the pictures of my pets, etc. 

I looked through Ty’s pictures and noticed there were none with him and Luke together, or any of Luke at all even though they were roommates and college friends.  I didnt think much of it and didn’t really spend much time on it though.  A week later, I wished that I had looked more closely.
